Leukemoid reaction

Definition
A leukemoid reaction is a reaction resembling leukemia, but is actually due to other conditions such as infections or other disease processes. As with leukemia, a person having a leukemoid reaction has a disorganized increase in immature white blood cells in the blood and bone marrow.
