Surgery receives flu vacines for vulnerable patients
THOUSANDS of flu jabs are available for patients at Tam’s Brig Surgery.
And this week medical staff have appealed to them to make sure they don’t miss out on the vital injection.
The news ends weeks of anxious waiting for staff and patients and special clinics have already been arranged to make sure that vulnerable patients receive their jab before the flu season begins.
A spokesman said: “I don’t know about other surgeries but we’ve finally received our full supply of flu vaccine.
“We had special clinics organised before the problem with the vaccines came about and obviously we had to cancel these. But we’ve got about 3,000 patients who need their flu jab and we’d like them to know that we have them available.”
The surgery will hold two special flu jab clinics on Saturday November 6 and Saturday November 13.
But anyone who can’t attend on these dates can make an arrangment through the surgery for an appointment.
The spokesman added: “The sooner people have this done the better. The elderly and people at risk are the people we’re targeting.”
