Natural Solutions for Acne

Conventional approaches to treating acne is to use antibiotics merely focus on treating the symptoms and virtually never address the cause. For resistant acne the first step taken by conventional dermatologist is to use antibiotics. While this might work it invariably kills beneficial bacteria in the colon and sets the person up for problems with chronic yeast infections.

For even more serious infections, a drug called Accutane is used. New research now shows that this drug can cause decreased activity in the orbitofrontal cortex, a brain area thought to control mood and social interaction.

This is particularly sad as acne is one of the easiest problems to treat. While conventional dermatologists state that diet has nothing to do with acne, nothing could be further from the truth. Optimizing insulin levels and function is essential to controlling acne and one of the best ways to do that is with your diet. Avoiding sugar and grains is a very effective solution for nearly everyone. For those that don’t respond to this approach, evaluating the estrogen to testosterone ratio is frequently beneficial.
