A new survey of low-income women living in rural areas shows they are not getting the information they need about cancer screenings.
Seven in ten of those women over age 40 say their doctors have never prompted them to get a mammogram.
The report also found 40 percent of women in that group did not know mammograms check for breast cancer.
Half did not know that pap smears check for cervical cancer.
