The Food Standards Agency, UK, will be holding a Food Labelling Forum in Aberdeen, to provide a public update on progress being made on its Food Labelling Action Plan and gather views on what food labelling issues continue to be of concern to people.
The Forum will be held in Aberdeen on Wednesday 20 October 2004.
Topics proposed for the Agenda include allergens, signposting of foods, and food labelling enforcement.
Entry to the forum will be by invitation only. In the event of oversubscription, priority will be given to ensuring that a wide range of interests is represented, and that individual consumers are not disappointed.
A similar Food Labelling Forum was successfully held by the Agency in January of this year, in London, and an additional Forum is being planned for London for January 2005.
This Forum will also provide an update on the Food Labelling Action Plan and cover a number of topics. Details of this event will be sent out at a later stage.
Anyone interested in attending the Forum in Aberdeen on 20 October 2004 should complete a form online at http://www.glasgows.co.uk/foodlabelling
People wishing to attend should respond no later than Monday 6 September 2004. Further details (venue, travel directions, location map and an agenda) will be included in the Invitation letter sent to applicants.
Further information can be obtained from the Forum Organisers by telephoning: 01772 767 716 or emailing
