Bond Highlights Anti-Alzheimer’s Effort
A federal lawmaker from Missouri is pushing federal legislation he hopes bolsters funding for and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease.
Republican Senator Kit Bond calls the measure a tribute to former President Ronald Reagan, who died of the disease last year.
Bond soon plans to reintroduce the Ronald Reagan Alzheimer’s Breakthrough Act. Among other things, it looks to double to $1.4 billion the funding for Alzheimer’s research at the National Institutes of Health.
Bond is to discuss the planned legislation in St. Louis Monday morning during a news briefing at the St. Louis Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
