“An easier access to information on Alzheimer’s disease is now available,” said Lynda Moecker, president of the Connecticut Chapter. “By dialing 866-3MEMORY Connecticut residents can receive answers to all their questions about Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
"We are focused and committed to supporting and to providing information to all state residents with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia and their caregivers,” she said.
The state chapter has more than 100 monthly support groups; free caregiver courses open to the public which are designed to provide the skills and information needed to care for persons with memory loss; a 24/7 multilingual Helpline support; and a Safe Return training program, aimed at providing fire/police departments and other organizations with the understanding and tools necessary to safely return memory-impaired individuals who have wandered and became lost, Moecker noted
The new line offers further information on all the programs and services. The Alzheimer’s Association is the only national non-profit health organization dedicated to conquering Alzheimer’s disease through research and to providing support programs and services to those individuals affected by the disease.
