Roche Holding AG’s Disetronic unit has voluntarily recalled a range of insulin infusion sets due to faulty tubing, which could leave diabetics short of the hormone they need to control their condition.
In a statement published on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Web site and dated Monday, Disetronic said it had recalled its Accu-Chek UltraFlex Infusion Sets, which are used in conjunction with insulin pumps, across the United States.
The move came after concern that tubes that deliver insulin to the patient could come loose.
