Wellbutrin XL, like Wellbutrin SR is used primarily to treat depression symptoms. Both Wellbutrin XL and Wellbutrin SR act directly on your brain and other nerve cells.
Wellbutrin can also be used to treat attention deficit disorder, bipolar symptoms, Chronic fatigue syndrome, cocaine addiction, nicotine addiction, and lower back pain.
Another effective use for this drug prescription is to help smokers quit smoking.
There are few side effects with wellbutrin, in fact any side effects that you may encounter tend to be mild and short lived. Some of the mild side effects of Wellbutrin XL & Wellbutrin SR include: a dry mouth, headaches, increased sweating, nausea/vomiting, constipation etc.
While these effects of Wellbutrin XL & Wellbutrin SR tend not to last very long, if they do persist or get worse you should notify your doctor right away
If you have an allergic reaction to Wellbutrin XL & Wellbutrin SR (although it’s highly unlikely according to medical experts) you should contact your doctor immediately.
Some of the symptoms may include trouble breathing, rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness.
Wellbutrin XL & Wellbutrin SR may be taken with food if you notice some stomach upset.
Always take your medication at regularly scheduled intervals each day and never take more than your doctor says. If you do for some reason take more than you are supposed to you could increase your risk of having a seizure.
It’s also important not to skip any doses or stop taking wellbutrin unless instructed by your doctor. It’s also better if you do not take it close to your bedtime because it may cause you to have problems getting to sleep.
