Wellbutrin is manufactured in a couple of different forms. Wellbutrin XL is an extended-release tablet, which you take once daily. Wellbutrin SR is a sustained release tablet, which means it is taken twice a day.
The difference between the two lies only in their formulation. The sustained release form has the exact same active ingredient-Bupropion HCL-as the extended release.
The difference is in the dosage. Whichever you choose, it is important to swallow your tablet whole. If it is chewed or cut up before it is ingested, the dosage rate is changed. But with Wellbutrin SR, the dosages are smaller, and dispersed throughout the day, so the risk of side effects resulting from irregulated dosage is reduced.
Wellbutrin SR has become a mainstay in the treatment of Depression. Wellbutrin XL is the latest version of the drug, which has proven its efficacy and reliability in the sustained release form. The choice between the two drugs depends more on which fits your lifestyle than the chemical composition. Both formulations are approved by the FDA and frequently recommended by physicians.
Our commitment to our customers is to provide the all the options. So many people have come to rely on Wellbutrin SR that switching to a different form may not be convenient for them, and in some cases may not even be prescribed. We continue to support our Wellbutrin SR customers with low prices, fast delivery and the care of our medical team while also bringing the latest drugs on the market online.
