Medtronic gets FDA OK for glucose monitoring system

Medical device maker Medtronic Inc. on Wednesday said U.S. regulators approved its Guardian continuous glucose monitoring system for managing Diabetes.
The system displays glucose values every five minutes and alerts patients when they become too high or too low.
Medtronic said the system, which is indicated for use in type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients age 18 and older, will be available in select U.S. cities.
