Expert Available for Interviews on Finding That 1 in 4 Teenage Girls Has a Sexually Transmitted Infection
Who: Dr. Peter Leone, an expert on STDs and an associate professor in the schools of Medicine and Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
What: Dr. Leone is taking part in a panel discussion in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 24. The panel will discuss data released recently by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that shows one in four teenage girls in the U.S. has a sexually transmitted infection.
The event is sponsored by the National Partnership for Women & Families, the American Social Health Association and the National Council of Women’s Organizations, in cooperation with the office of Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio.
