Treatments, symptoms for low testosterone in men

On Wednesday, 9Health’s Dr. John Torres interviewed Dr. Jesse Mills, a male fertility and hormone specialist.

The interview was about the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of low testosterone in men, especially as they age.

According to Dr. Mills, the symptoms can be hard to detect - mainly because they come on so slowly - but usually involve a low sex drive, fatigue, a decrease in muscle mass and even crankiness and irritability.

Low testosterone can start at a young age with some even feeling the effects in their 40s. A simple blood test can diagnosis they issue, and simple hormone replacement therapies can correct this problem and not only give the man back his normal life, but, in some cases, can even be life extending.
